Fashion is Identity

One certain thing in the fashion world is “Change” and we are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, books, media e.t.c.

So, it was quite amazing to hear our individual views on fashion last week… And funny enough, scanning through the comments that came in, almost everyone personalized the concept of fashion to their personalities and expressions…thus making it a known fact that “Fashion is Identity”.

“That thing we deal with every day, even when people who claim they don’t care what they wear still choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel; is what is known as Fashion…”

It has recently become a part of the self-realization of every person unlike in the beginning when it was basically designed to supply the need for covering and protection.

Identity, on the other hand, is the understanding of who we are, what we identify with, and how our frameworks affect us.

So, Fashion is central to our identity because whether we have a passion for style or not, the choices we make paints clearly who we are. And if fashion is truly identity, then it means we have to pay attention to the following traits so we ain’t caught in its the web.

1.) Being a Copy Cat to the Fashion Dictate of Style icons such as Musicians and other cultural icons…

2). Losing ourselves in the quest of following trends…

3). Portraying a wrong self-image with clothing that doesn’t match our personality.

Therefore, We are not what we wear, but we have to recognize we can become what we wear. So, let’s endeavor to put on different types of clothes that have the power to change our self-perception and how others see us.

Stay Cute.
